What´s the storry behind RESONANCE?

From the creators who brought you Mad Cow Cabaret comes an exploration of the human spirit. Inspired by the Dawson College shooting in Montreal in 2006, Prime Stock explores the dark inner journey that is a part of survival in a modern world. The actions that we choose each day resonate with others and, like ripples in water, touch the shores of others lives.

Visually adventurous, physically poetic, vocally operatically and hauntingly evocative.

Prime Stock Theatre - Red Deer's professional theatre - is proud to reunite the talents who created their original Mad Cow Cabaret in 2006, in a challenging new work of words, music and movement.

Under the guidance of movement specialist Lynda Adams (Red Deer College) and dramatic co-ordinator Thomas Usher (Prime Stock Theatre), the company has created a richly textured journey of two disparate souls whose lives impact in a single dreadful moment: a haunting evolution of random acts of violence and hope, set against the divergent backdrop of simple lives.

Featuring the performing talents of Karl Sine (from Rosebud) and Tilly van Keule (of Red Deer), and joined by vocalist and musician Mandy McKee, Resonance utilizes monologue, verse and music within a framework of movement, to fashion an experience which attempts to explore the question of what drives us to act out tragically when our hopes remain unrealized.

Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the shadow T.S. Eliot

Underscored by a richly developed score from Red Deer's own Morgan McKee, the cast performs in the Scott Block Theatre in downtown Red Deer from May 3-12th.
