Every summer, Prime Stock Theatre presents the Bard on Bower Festival at Bower Ponds in Red Deer. Professional actors, designers, playwrights, and technicians from around Alberta come together to bring the plays of William Shakespeare to life. Supported by a CCDF grant from the City of Red Deer, Bard on Bower is free to attend.

Our Summer 2027 festival will take place in July, and will feature a collection of one-act plays, written by Alberta playwrights, inspired by the works of Shakespeare. Playwrights from around Alberta will write a series of one-act plays, which will be staged by a team of local artists on the Bower Ponds stage.
