the 2012 Bard on Bower included:

the TAMING of the SHREW

a comedy by William Shakespeare

The battle of the sexes was played out in a contemporary Canadian city where patriarch Baptista Minola runs a café in Little Italy– that is, when he’s not distracted by the none too simple task of marrying off his daughters; Bianca is well sought after but must wait for her older sister, Kate, who is far from keen on being defined by her relationship status.

MACBETH

a tragedy by William Shakespeare

Something wicked this way comes…

A bloody rise to power, witches, apparitions and a forest that marched into town… this familiar story find new roots in Northern Ireland during the 70s where the Nationals are as religious as they are superstitious; they are fighting in the streets to get out from under the thumb of British rule, and there’s no reason to hesitate to throw that Molotov cocktail when you can save your own soul in confession...
